Peppers

Summary

Whether you are growing sweet peppers or hot peppers, media beds are the ideal aquaponics method to use.

Growing

Peppers grow well within a humidity range of 60-65% and a temperature range of about 22-28°C. Generally speaking, spicier peppers can be grown at higher temperatures; though exceeding 30°C for extended periods of time can lead to floral abortion.

Pepper seedlings can be transplanted after at lest 6 true leaves have presented and the evening temperatures stabilize above 10°C. Heavy yielding pepper plants will likely need to be trellised. Removing some of the frist flowers encourages further plant growth and may lead to a higher yield.

Harvesting

Harvest peppers once the color changes to a ripe and rich shade indicating elevated vitamin C levels and have reached a marketable size.
