Parsley is a popular crop grown in aquaponic systems due to a number of factors such as its high market value, richness in vitamins A and C, and the general ease of parsley production.
While parsley can survive a wide range of temperatures, it requires at least 8°C for growth and shade for conditions above 25°C .
Parsley germination can take 2-5 weeks. Soaking seeds in 20-23°C water for 24-48 hours before planting is recommended to accelerate the germination process. Approximately 5 weeks after the seedling have begun to sprout, transplant them into the aquaponic unit.
Stalks are harvested once they reach a length of at least 15cm, removing outer stalks first.
